Ammunition is a important item that is needed to make all guns and crossbow to work. The type of ammunition is the leading factor in what the gun's damage, armor penetration, and tissue damage coefficient is. For example, the Mosin-Nagant and the SMLE rifle both have the same accuracy and weight as well as only a difference of one in velocity. The calibers (ammunition used) are however different. The 7.62x54mmR FMJ ammunition used by the Mosin-Nagant is superior to .303 British FMJ used the SMLE. 7.62x54mmR FMJ has 6 more damage, 43 more muzzle velocity, and 0.2 more tissue damage coefficient.
Ammunition Stats Effect[]
Weight: Affects the amount of space taken per unit in cargo
Approximate Damage: Initial damage before taking adding in all other weapon and ammo stats
Projectile Mass: Affects the amount of bleeding per hit on an enemy (Needs confirmation)
Muzzle Velocity: Affects the accuracy and damage efficiency at range (Needs confirmation)
Armor Piercing: Multiplies the amount of damage that goes through the armor of a unit
Tissue Damage Coefficient: Multiplies the amount of damage on unarmored units
Form Factor: Multiplies the accuracy at a range
Projectile Diameter: Affects the amount of bleeding per hit on an enemy (Needs confirmation)
Overview[]
This is a list of the main classes of ammunition and all their variants.
FMJ |
Full Metal Jacket. This ammunition type is your average round. Standard in all fields, excelling at none. |
---|---|
BB | Ball Bearing. This ammunition does not use a pointed round, but a ball; reducing armor penetration and accuracy but improving all-around stopping power. |
JHP | Jacketed Hollow Point. This ammunition uses a concave point to maximize expanding when it hits the target. This will cause massive hemmoraging of the internals of any enemy hit with it, although those with armor will be largely unaffected. |
JSP | Jacketed Soft Point. The tip of this ammunition is made of a soft metal, one that will usually burst upon hitting the enemy. This is the balance between JHP and FMJ, doing more armor penetration than the former. |
MAG | Magnum. This usually refers to the fact the weapon has an overloaded charge. It will have a larger range and more stopping power, as well as a higher muzzle velocity for penetrating armor. |
AP | Armor-Penetrating Round. Hard steel/tungsten core for penetrating all forms of composite weave. |
AP-M2 | Same as AP. |
ECR | Explosive Composite Round. Has explosive properties. |
LRN |
Lead Round Nose ammo. |
TRC |
Tracer Round. Has incendiary properties. |
HPBT |
Hollow Point Boat Tail. similar to JHP bullet but with Boat Tail which gives more flight stability, thus larger form factor and speed. Better for long range than JHP. |
